LDJ Solicitors have made a generous donation to the Hinckley Contact Centre in recognition of the valuable work the charity provides to the local community.
Samantha Chater, Partner and Head of the Family Department commented "We work extremely closely with the Contact Centre and we wanted to acknowledge the valuable service they provide to local families. We hope our donation will go some way to help improve contact for the families and highlight the important work done by the charity.
Bill Joy, the Chairman of Childlink, said, "We provide a supervised environment in order to help those agencies dealing with families to reach stepped progress for what is right for all concerned. We provide toys and refreshments and I am sincerely grateful to the partners of LDJ Solicitors for the donation of £500.00 which will help us to replace many of the toys we have available. Many of the absent parents would I am sure only be too happy to point to the very valuable service of the contact centre in helping to rekindle relationships with their children".
Hinckley Contact Centre
The Hinckley Contact centre was first established in order to provide a secure and non-judgemental venue where children from broken relationships can spend time with the absent parent. It was set up by the local charity Childlink, to address a need in the local area for children to be able to have quality time on a regular basis with the absent mother or father.
The centre operates out of Mount Road Baptist Church in Hinckley every Saturday morning and in the time since it was first established it has helped over 320 families, involving over 450 children. Families needing to use the Centre will be referred to the Co-ordinator by agencies dealing with families and self-referral is not possible.
