Being prosecuted is a stressful experience whether you have been accused of driving too fast, or of murder. It doesn't help that the law can seem like a maze, where if you take the wrong turn the consequences can be pretty disastrous.
It is harder to judge which turn to take when you are personally involved and stressing about the outcome. That is where we can help. We can guide you through the maze whether it's at a police station or at Court.
We are used to dealing with people in a panic and we have the expertise and experience to help you get the best result.

Criminal Defence (Motoring Offences)
We have an “own client” Legal Aid Contract. We can represent you in interview at the police station under that Contract, at no cost to yourself.
If you have been charged to Court, we can apply for a Representation Order (Legal Aid) to cover the cost of your defence, but your eligibility depends both on the seriousness of the offence you have been charged with and your income. As a rule of thumb you will qualify financially if you are receiving benefits or earning the minimum wage. If you do not qualify we would charge £90.00 plus VAT for an initial consultation. This would cover advice on the law, the potential outcome of the case, and if appropriate a letter of mitigation for the Court.
If you require representation at Court and are not eligible for a Representation Order, our basic charge for an initial hearing at Coventry Magistrates Court or Leamington Magistrates Court is £250.00 plus VAT.
We would charge more to attend a more distant Court, or if the case required lengthy preparation or was likely to last all morning, but we would let you know how much the cost would be at the initial consultation.
Our Mr Simon Marlow-Ridley, who qualified as a Solicitor in 1993, has over 25 years experience dealing with these types of matters and therefore please ask for him if you need his assistance.
