We are delighted to welcome Wills, Probate, Tax and Trusts specialist, Lorna Watts, into the Partnership.

Lorna joined the firm as a Senior Solicitor in its Private Client department in 2011 and was appointed as the Head of Department in April 2018. Lorna has been a key member of the Private Client team ever since.

Alan Edgington, Managing Partner, said " Over the last eight years, Lorna has proven to be a great asset to the firm and she possesses all the right qualities and skills required to be a Partner. We always look to recognise the dedication of our people and promote from within wherever possible. We are therefore delighted to welcome Lorna to the partnership and we look forward to working alongside her in her new role for many successful years to come”. 

Lorna Watts commented “I first undertook work experience with LDJ whilst at school and this certainly contributed to my decision to become a solicitor, however, I did not expect (at the time) that one day I would become a partner in the firm. After several years now working at LDJ, I am delighted to be joining the partnership and I look forward to playing a meaningful role in its future success.”

Lorna qualified as a Solicitor in 1997 and is a full professional member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) specialising in the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney, Grant of Probate applications and the Administration of Estates, the Creation and Administration of Trusts, Inheritance Tax Planning and advising upon issues affecting the elderly including the Protection of Family Assets.

Lorna also has extensive experience advising individuals who have received a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or Dementia and their families upon legal issues arising from their condition including Protecting Assets, Power of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Deputy.
